Up: The boxart. original drawing for Sharkit.

In the late 1930s, German theoretician Dr. Eugen Sanger and mathematician Dr.. Irene Bredt developed several revolutionary concepts involving hypersonic flight. Some of their work was later incorporated into Germany's "Projekt Amerika," the Nazis' program to develop a long-range bomber to attack America's East Coast.

The centerpiece of Sanger's work was the "Silverbird," a hypersonic spaceplane designed to be launched horizontally on a rail, then ascend to the edge of space where it could "skip" across the upper atmosphere to hit targets virtually anywhere in the world. Many of Sanger's concepts were later used by NASA in the development of the ill-fated X-20 "DynaSoar" spaceplane.

This Silverbird model is full resin. Landing gear is provided so the model can be displayed in its landed configuration.

The model also includes a detailed cokpit. The hatch/canopy can be set open to display the interior.

The booster (one vacu and one resin part) is include in your kit-box.
